Who we are
This website is run by Blue Team IT, an IT consulting and custom tooling business based in Pretoria, South Africa. For the purposes of POPIA, Blue Team IT is the responsible party for personal information collected through this site.

What we collect
We collect only what you choose to give us. The site has one form that sends us information.

You don't need to give us anything you aren't comfortable with, but we can't reply without a way to reach you. Please don't put sensitive information such as passwords, ID numbers or card details in the message box.
Why we use it
- To reply to your enquiry and work out what you need.
- To prepare quotes and, if you go ahead, deliver the work.
- To keep a record of our communication with you.
- To protect the site and our systems against abuse and spam.
- To meet legal obligations where they apply.
We rely on your consent (you tick the privacy box before sending the form), on steps needed to respond to your request, and on our legitimate interest in running a business and keeping our systems secure.
We do not sell your information, and we do not use your contact form details for marketing unless you ask us to.
The email domain checker
The "Email" section of the site runs a live check in your browser. When you press Check, your browser sends the domain name you typed (and the optional DKIM selector) directly to public DNS resolvers, Google Public DNS and, as backup, Cloudflare DNS. Those requests are subject to their own privacy policies.
That lookup does not go through our servers and the domain is not sent to us. If you then press Fix this for me, the results are only copied into the contact form on your screen. They reach us only if you send the form.
Cookies and tracking
This site does not use advertising cookies, analytics trackers or social media pixels. The interactive demos (printer scan, data clean-up, lead board) are mock-ups that run entirely in your browser with sample data and send nothing anywhere.
The pages load fonts from Google Fonts, which means your browser contacts Google's servers to fetch them and Google may receive your IP address and browser details as part of that request.
Links to other sites, such as the Toshiba Range Selector, are covered by the privacy policies of those sites.
Keeping and securing it
We keep your information only as long as we need it for the purposes above, or as long as the law requires, and then delete or anonymise it. If you'd like it removed sooner, ask us (see your rights below).
We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect personal information from loss, misuse and unauthorised access, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and restricted access to our systems. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, so we can't promise absolute security. If a breach affecting your information occurs, we will notify you and the Information Regulator as POPIA requires.
Your rights
Under POPIA you may:
- ask whether we hold personal information about you, and request a copy;
- ask us to correct or update it if it is inaccurate or out of date;
- ask us to delete or destroy it where we no longer have a lawful reason to keep it;
- object to us processing it, or withdraw consent you gave earlier;
- object to direct marketing at any time.
Email info@blueteamit.co.za with your request. We may need to confirm who you are before acting on it, and we'll respond within a reasonable time.
Complaints
If something is wrong, please talk to us first and we'll do our best to fix it. You also have the right to complain to South Africa's Information Regulator:
